About us
Founded in January 1911 by the student body of the College of Agriculture of the University of the Philippines. Originally named as “The Philippine Agriculturist and Forester”. Started in January 1911 when the Volume 1 Number 1 issue came out and later became an official publication of the college in 1917. “The Philippine Agriculturist and Forester aims to cover in its activity the field of the college, promoting as it can the education of the Filipino people in agriculture and forestry, and the agricultural and forest interests of the Islands.” In 1918, the journal name “The Philippine Agriculturist” was adopted, as a result of “the separation of the School of Forestry from the administrative control of the College of Agriculture in 1916” (PAS Vol. 7 No. 1) and persist to a greater part of the journal’s life until its issue in March 1999, where it became what it is known today – The Philippine Agricultural Scientist.
